Choosing to Dismiss Your Inner Judge
by Pierre Pradervand.
As of today, I’ve decided to start/continue with the process of accepting myself totally, as I am, with no ulterior motives whatsoever.
I choose to forgive myself for everything I haven’t been able to achieve, be it dreams or projects, or even a personal “story” I cherished.
I forgive myself totally, aware that somewhere along the line, I was at my highest level of consciousness at every moment, and that I did the best I could with the insights and understanding I had in the past.
My Mind and Guilt and/or Innocence
It is in my mind that I establish my own guilt as well as my own innocence. “Jury and judge lodge in my own thoughts.”
I wish to accept that the universe loves me totally, unconditionally and without any ulterior motive, and I’m determined to love myself in the same way, because this also conditions my acceptance of others. How can I give to others what I don’t give to myself?
I choose to dismiss my inner judge with whom I’ve established my own guilt, and I choose to uncover and accept my total ontological innocence, the innocence of my deepest, divine self.
I accept that every step I’ve taken or chosen not to take, every experience I’ve had in the past that might be labelled as “good” or “bad” were at that moment an integral part of my life path and brought me to where I am today.
I choose to open myself to the idea that there is a profound beauty in me that I may not have fully recognized to date, that I am a splendid, wonderful being, the Source of all life manifesting itself – and to learn to see this in others.
I choose to see the light in myself, rather than the lampshade, and to do the same for everyone else I meet.
Editor's Note: The following blessings are from the author's (Pierre Pradervand) book 365 Blessings to heal myself and the World.
A Blessing to Learn to Love Myself
May your blessings be multiplied, you who so faithfully bless others – or have the desire to do so. Henri Nouwen has said that “to give someone a blessing is the most significant affirmation we can offer.”
Today, your blessing is going to be for a very special person: yourself. As one who has worked for over a quarter of a century in the field of personal development, I am aware of how many people need to learn to love themselves – sometimes desperately so!
I bless myself as one who is unconditionally cherished by divine Love – with not one single string attached!
I bless myself in my ability to see that my loving others depends in the long run on a very deep acceptance of myself, which no one else can give me.
I bless myself in my total forgiveness of what has not worked in my life – failed relationships, messed up careers, dead-end roads, weaknesses that still challenge me maybe after decades of working on them.
May I see that divine Love does not need to forgive me as it has never held a single thing against me.
As I go into the silence, may I hear the voice in my heart saying: “This is my beloved child in whom I am well pleased” and accept to be pleased, not with the small human, but with divine Love manifesting itself AS me.
A Blessing to Acknowledge My Divine Selfhood
With the understanding of the allness of Love, accepting and feeling one’s divine essence or selfhood is one of the most important spiritual steps any individual can take. The lack of self-love is one of the most fundamental challenges I have encountered in my workshops for a quarter of a century, which is why its healing is so fundamental to meaningful living.
I bless myself from the heart as the utterly beautiful, totally divine being I AM.
I bless myself in my radiant goodness that constitutes the very marrow of my nature.
I bless the complete, untarnished integrity of my mind and heart.
I bless myself in the constantly renewed vitality and energy Life has bestowed upon me so as to serve with joy.
I bless myself in the unfettered vision that prepares me for all the miracles awaiting my openness and trust so as to manifest themselves in my existence.
I bless the perfect health already embedded in the essence of my being that it may be powerfully expressed despite matters’ claims all shouting together for my attention.
I bless myself in my unconditional love and forgiveness which constitute the very foundation of my being.
I bless myself in the as yet unexpressed talents just waiting to blossom inside me.
I bless myself in my boundless resilience and grit that can carry me through any trial.
And finally, I bless myself in my ability to see all through the eyes of the love that never judges or condemns but tenderly embraces, encourages and uplifts.
Blessing For Seeing the Divine Curriculum
Either we live in a universe ruled by chance – or we live in a universe governed by law. If the universe is run by an Entity of infinite, unconditional Love – which is the premise of these blessings – then “all things work together for the good of those who love God” as a certain Paul wrote. All things – not most, and all the time – not sometimes. So, friend, rest on this incredibly comforting assurance.
I bless this day, in which absolutely everything is part of Love’s plan for my progress and unfoldment.
I bless myself in my deep trust that absolutely everything that happens today is happening to forward my growth and to broaden my heart and my ability to love.
I bless myself in my ability to face anger with peace, upsets of all sorts with equanimity, hatred with forgiveness, disappointments with confidence that ultimately all will work for the best, fear with the assurance of Love’s unfailing presence, negativity with optimism, evil with the understanding that it has no true substance.
I bless myself in accepting all forms of good, the beauty of nature and people and the abundance of life’s manifestations with unfailing gratitude. Amen.
